Katrina Suroveca was born in 1995 in Riga, Latvia. She studied at the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music Secondary School, followed by a bachelor’s degree at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music under Professor Sergejs Osokins.
As part of the Erasmus+ exchange program, she continued her development at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, and since 2022, she has been further deepening her artistry at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Professor Markus Groh.
Katrina is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Yamaha Scholarship Competition, the Augustin Aponte International Music Competition, and Musical Fireworks in Baden-Württemberg, among others.
She has performed extensively across Europe, with a strong presence in Germany and Italy. Katrina regularly appears at the C. Bechstein Centrum in Dresden and Berlin, where she has given solo recitals and concert appearances. In Italy, she has been featured at the Festival Pianistico Internazionale Larius, concert series at Mulino del Ronzone, Sala Baldini in Rome, and other distinguished venues.
She has been honored by the Latvian Ministry of Culture and the patrons of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music for her musical achievements. Her collaborations include both artistic and commercial projects with C. Bechstein and CASIO, including video productions for the Bechstein Concert 8 in Los Angeles and the CASIO AP-750 in Hamburg. Katrina has refined her musical vision through masterclasses with leading pianists such as Niklas Sivelöv, Wolfram Schmitt Leonardy, Markus Groh, Michael Wendeberg, Dmitri Bashkirov, Bernd Goetzke, and others. In addition to her performance career, Katrina regularly gives masterclasses, sharing her artistic approach with pianists of various levels.
She is also deeply engaged in digital audience-building, actively managing a growing classical music platform with over 33,000 subscribers. Since 2024, she has also contributed to the artistic media and branding team at C. Bechstein as a Social Media Manager Assistant
